Flawed & Fuzzy thinking permeates Council’s vote on Arlington

Here’s an email submission to Council by Anthony May, a local resident of Williams Parade, pointing out serious flaws of logic not just in Council’s sudden change of heart, but its overall strategy for Arlington for the last several years.

The current regime of allowing TWO football clubs access to Arlington in winter not only contravenes Football NSW’s own recommendations (one club per field) which puts enormous pressure on Arlington field’s recuperation, but also excludes other teams, other sports, and schools from accessing the facility.  Why?

A shortage of facilities, of course.  But what happened to Council’s undertaking to liaise with other adjoining Councils to identify and develop new sporting facilities?  Apparently the NSW state government had plans to build a motorway through the site considered (in Tempe), so Council just gave up.

We have one response:  ROADS CAN BE PUT UNDERGROUND – PLAYING FIELDS CANNOT – TRY HARDER.
